PILOT FriXion BLS-FR refills deliver an effortlessly smooth writing experience, thanks to PILOT’s unique gel-based, thermo-sensitive ink. The low-viscosity formula glides from the tip with minimal drag, making it ideal for comfortable, extended writing.

The ink flows consistently, ensuring clean, skip-free lines. Paired with a soft, responsive ball tip, it offers smooth control and comfort with even the lightest pressure.

Mistakes are no problem—simply erase with no smudging or mess. The ink vanishes cleanly without leaving any residue on the paper. Refill your favourite FriXion Erasable gel pen to prolong its life and reduce landfill waste. Choose from various tip sizes and colours to suit your needs. These refills are compatible with PILOT FriXion Ball, FriXion Clicker, and FriXion Ball Pro erasable pens.

As the ink is erasable, never use it on legal documents, exam papers, or when writing cheques. To avoid accidental erasure, do not leave writing where it may be subjected to high temperatures for a prolonged period. Ink will reappear at approximately -20°C.

The special thermo-sensitive ink in PILOT FriXion pens becomes invisible when exposed to heat above 60°C. This is the same process that happens when you erase using the built-in tip of a FriXion erasable pen—the friction generates enough warmth to make the ink disappear without damaging the paper. While the writing may fade at high temperatures, it can often reappear if the page is cooled to around –10°C, showcasing the unique technology behind FriXion erasable pens.

Yes, the ink in erasable pens can reappear when exposed to very cold temperatures, typically below –10°C. This happens because the thermo-sensitive ink used in erasable ink pens like the PILOT Erasable pens and FriXion erasable pens becomes invisible when heated but can turn visible again in extreme cold. To prevent this, keep your notes and documents stored at room temperature.

PILOT FriXion erasable pens use a unique thermo-sensitive ink. When you rub the eraser end on your paper, the friction generates enough heat to turn the ink invisible, making it look like it has been erased. The same effect can occur if your notes are exposed to extreme heat—such as being left in a hot car or under direct sunlight.

Don’t worry! The writing can often be restored. Place your FriXion pens or notes in a ziplock bag and leave them in the freezer for 15–20 minutes. Once you return them to room temperature, the ink will usually reappear.

As with all PILOT erasable pens, we recommend never using FriXion ink on legal documents, exam papers, or when writing cheques.

Many users enjoy FriXion products for quilting projects, often using them to mark patterns and using an iron to erase them. However, we recommend you always test on a small section of the fabric to see that the ink will not stain as it cannot be guaranteed that FriXion ink is suitable for all types of fabric.

As PILOT FriXion Erasable products contain a unique ink that is thermo-sensitive, heat will turn the ink invisible (making it look like it has been erased), however, the ink will also reappear in colder temperatures, at approximately -20 degrees Celsius.
